Deepu and Anupama’s dream dwelling in the idyllic countryside of Vannapuram in Idukki, Kerala, could give any luxurious resort a run for its money. So, they wanted a minimal yet beautiful house in their hometown where they could relax and unwind in weekends. Deepu had purchased this plot, a few years ago, in Vannapuram, to build a house. As they stay here only on weekends, the couple wanted a house that was easily maintainable and didn’t burn a hole in their pocket.

The owner read about architect Binu Mohan of Sree Sankara Builders in an article published on Manorama Online. Soon, Binu was roped in to design their dream abode. Designed in 1420 sqft, this charming house has a sit-out, living and dining areas, kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom on the ground floor.

Meanwhile, there is a bedroom and a balcony on the upper floor. The interiors have been designed by staying true to the concept ‘nothing more, nothing less’. Besides, the interiors aren’t burdened with too many furniture pieces, to make maintenance easier.

A simple 360-degree rotatable TV unit is what separates the living and dining areas. You could watch television by relaxing on a cosy couch in the living room or while enjoying meals. The bedrooms designed in 14 x 14 size are quite simple with attached bathrooms and almirahs.
