Pune: A third case of job fraud has been registered against Vinayak Kadale (54), a retired civilian defence employee from the administrative section of the Command Hospital, Wanowrie, for allegedly cheating several victims of Rs49.35 lakh. One of the victims approached the Sahakarnagar police to lodge a complaint.

Kadale had taken voluntary retirement from defence services in 2021. The Kondhwa police first arrested him this year on charges of cheating 58 job aspirants from Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, and Solapur of Rs45 lakh. The Market Yard police on March 6 this year registered a second case against Kadale after Mundhwa resident Ajinkya Tanaji Gandhile (22) lodged a complaint, accusing Kadale of cheating him and 39 other job aspirants of Rs28 lakh in total between Dec 2021 and Aug 2023.

The Cantonment police are also examining a similar complaint against Kadale but are yet to register a case. In the latest case with the Sahakarnagar police, a 53-year-old retired schoolteacher from Dhankawadi has accused Kadale of cheating him of Rs30.60 lakh by promising a clerical job to his daughter at Command Hospital.

“The complainant and Kadale were familiar with each other for many years,” said senior inspector Chhagan Kapse. The officer cited the FIR and said, “Kadale told the victim that Command Hospital authorities would soon be conducting a written exam to fill posts. The victim spread the word about a possibility of securing govt jobs, among kin and friends.
