A thief who carried a knife in a Sainsbury's store, a man who harassed and threatened another person and drivers under the influence of drugs were all sentenced last week at Grimsby Magistrates' Court . While some cases were adjourned to a later date and others sent to Grimsby Crown Court, magistrates in Grimsby still handed out prison sentences, hefty fines, community orders and driving bans last week. Here are eight people from across northern Lincolnshire who have been sentenced at Grimsby Magistrates' Court in recent days.

He also pleaded guilty to two counts of theft from a shop in which he stole approximately £100 worth of items from Sainsbury's on two separate occasions. He was jailed for 16 weeks and ordered to pay £35 in compensation.

Damien Shepherd, 40, of Purbeck Road, Grimsby pleaded guilty to harassment in which he put the victim in fear of violence by calling numerous times and sending threatening messages. He was given a community order and a two-year restraining order, and ordered to pay a £114 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
