Nothing quite gets our travel wanderlust going than scenes of crystal clear, blue waters, and stunning white sand. But where in the world can you find the whitest beaches ? Researchers from luxury villa travel agents CV Villas carried out a study of over 200 beaches around the world, using colour analysis theory and Google Maps images. After finding out the sands' RGB colour code, the researchers compared this with the world's purest shade of white, to find out which beach truly is home to the whitest sands on the planet.

Here are the top ten. Tying at number nine with a score of 8.5 points go to beaches found in the Atlantic Ocean.

The secluded and picturesque Taylor Bay Beach is on the southwestern coast of Providenciales, the main island of the Turks & Caicos Islands. Stocking Island beach in the Bahamas had the same score.
