A historic building in Tyler has been restored into an apartment complex, with a grand opening set to celebrate its completion. NORF Companies, a New Orleans-based real estate firm, announced the completion of The Wilcox, located on Broadway Avenue in downtown Tyler. Originally operated as the Cooperative Savings and Loan Association Building in 1956 and designed by the world-renowned architect E.

Davis Wilcox, The Wilcox has been transformed into 31 luxury rental apartments. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening will be held at 1 p.m.

Tuesday at the complex located at 230 S. Broadway Ave. The newly revitalized Wilcox showcases its mid-century modern design.

In the repurposed former bank's drive-thru, there is a dedicated common area with activities to promote socializing and community relationships. The building offers six unique, spacious layouts with contemporary finishes, making it an ideal living space.
