A TV insider has claimed that a genuine tension emerged between the usually mild mannered 42-year-old pop star and fellow hitmaker Kate during filming.

Australian singer Kate, 42, made her debut on the singing contest last week alongside new coaches, LeAnn Rimes and Adam Lambert .
