Locals love the quiet town of Poynton with its beautiful park and friendly summer vibes Nestled at the foot of the Peak District, Poynton in Cheshire serves as a perfect gateway for those keen to explore the rolling countryside. Just a stone's throw away is Lyme Park, and for those who prefer a leisurely walk without cars, the Middlewood Way offers a 16km scenic route through idyllic landscapes. On a sunny summer afternoon, this quaint spot often likened to a 'small town with a village feel', takes on the air of a chic Mediterranean promenade.

Paul, one of the town's dedicated Council Support Community Officers, certainly thinks so, as he lists the array of independent cafes, restaurants, and bars that adorn the verdant Park Lane. He said: "Come summer it's like being in Spain." Working alongside his colleague, they act as Poynton's vigilant guardians, addressing issues from graffiti and litter to dog fouling, while also playing a part in deterring petty crime and antisocial behaviour.

They are both full of admiration for their Cheshire locale and believe it to be the envy of any tourism board seeking to draw visitors. Their enthusiasm for Poynton is shared by many, reports the Manchester Evening News. For those wishing to enjoy a waterside amble, Poynton Park beckons with its pool, venerable trees, and abundant wildlife, while the Macclesfield Canal carves its path directly through the town's centre.

Despite its charming rural vibe, this small town with a big heart is conven.
