The Repair Shop's Jay Blades has reportedly been dropped from the show's live theatre tour. The presenter's career hangs in the balance following the allegations concerning his estranged wife Lisa Zbozen, 43. It comes amid claims the BBC look set to axe the Christmas special of The Repair Shop.
Channel 5 has also shelved the documentary series A Country House Through Time. Channel 4 has said there will be no sequel to The Odd Couple, Jay's travel show with Dame Judi Dench. The Sun has now reported Jay has been quietly dropped from the Bafta-winning series’ theatre gigs, Secrets from the Barn, and ditched from its promotional material.
West Mercia Police launched an investigation after being called on May 3. Jay's estranged wife Lisa Zbozen posted a message on Instagram saying their marriage had ended after 18 months. In a statement, the police force said: "Fifty-four year-old Jason Blades of Claverley in Wolverhampton has been charged with controlling and coercive behaviour.
"He appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates Court this morning (Friday 13th September) and has been bailed to appear at Worcester Crown Court on Friday 11th October." Jay has been the host of The Repair Shop for seven years. He has also hosted Money for Nothing, Jay Blades' Home Fix and Jay and Dom's Home Fix, and in 2022 he fronted a documentary about learning to read at the age of 51.
He was honoured with an MBE in 2021. Jay is due at Worcester crown court on Friday..
