Dominic Chinea, a cherished member of the expert team on BBC's popular show, The Repair Shop, has been restoring damaged and broken family heirlooms since his first appearance in 2017. The talented metalwork master has gathered a large fan base who are often emotionally moved by the restorations on the heartwarming and award-winning programme. As audiences continue to watch season 13, Dominic has announced an exciting new project and published a book, Machines A Visual History: 100 Machines and the Remarkable Stories Behind Each Invention.

This illustrated book is a visual journey through 100 amazing machines, each with its own place in history and intriguing stories behind it. Dominic explains why he selected each machine and shares his personal experiences of repairing them if one has ended up in his workshop or on The Repair Shop, reports the Express . The book also includes a heritage craft chapter which delves into a wheeling machine that holds special significance for the TV star.

He reminisced about the time when he unsuccessfully attempted to locate a Ranalah wheeling machine and consequently sifted through a historical paper trail to eventually purchase Ranalah Limited three years ago. As a result, Dominic embarked on the complex process of manufacturing the machines again with the aim of teaching younger generations the craft. The Repair Shop star took to Instagram to share with his followers that his new book had been published.
