Today presenter Jayne Azzopardi was delivering news on a devastating car crash on Queensland 's Gold Coast when her voice faltered.

The 44-year-old veteran presenter appeared to choke up at one point just she began the story. After a short spell of coughing, Azzopardi appeared to recover and continued. She later explained that the interruption was down to a croaky throat.

'Excuse me,' Azzopardi said apologising to viewers. She then continued: 'I'm not sure what's happening to my voice this morning.' The newsreader, who replaced Brooke Boney last month, on Nine's breakfast show, then took a sip of water to clear her throat.
