Produced by Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, and Colin Farrell and written by Lauren LeFranc, the eight-episode drama is set one week after the events of The Batman . Sarah Aubrey, of HBO Max told Variety magazine: “The goal of this is to show what Oz’s life is like and that’s very much in the streets of Gotham, trying to get up and over as only the Penguin can. As a hustler and a strategist with his own ambitions.
“It is a great example of having the time over eight episodes to tell a longer-arc character story with a lot of delicious twists and turns and new characters.” When is The Penguin released? The Penguin premieres in the US on Thursday 19 September on HBO and will be available to stream on Max. In the UK, the eight-episode series will air on Sky Atlantic on Friday 20 September and will be available on the streaming service NOW later in the year.
After Friday’s premiere, UK fans will be able to watch subsequent episodes every Sunday night starting from Sunday 29 Septembe.
