One of the world’s most popular tourist destinations that has millions of holidaymakers flocking to it every year may not be all it's cracked up to be. A recent study from kingcasinobonus.uk , analysed reviews left online by visitors on a leading tourist ratings platform to rank the top ten most overrated cities in the world.
A number of famous and popular hotspots were featured but the number one spot was taken by Bangkok. According to the research, 18.4 percent of tourists felt that this popular spot was overrated and were disappointed by it.
According to online reviews, the Thai capital is known for its overcrowding and murky river waters. Particularly criticised is the backpacker haven of Khaosan Road, deemed excessively touristy. Comments on TripAdvisor forums called the city "overrated" and crowded.
Even the food left holidaymakers lacking with reviews saying they felt the Boat Noodles and Pad Thai, although cheap, were low quality. Coming in second was Toronto, Canada, where 186.8 percent of tourists said they felt let down.
The CN Tower was the biggest culprit in this disappointment, claiming the title of the most lacklustre attraction in the city. Holidaymakers said they felt the city was pricey and there were long queues to access things. Tokyo in Japan came in third place with 16.
