A fashion brand born in the North East is said to be already attracting attention from stylists and celebrities - just weeks after relaunching. Ony, which is the brainchild of Harvey Singh and Ruhel Uddin from Newcastle city centre , released its new fashion range on June 30, focusing on luxury everyday essentials, including joggers, sweatshirts, hoodies and T-shirts. Harvey and Ruhel, both 31, started their business during the Covid pandemic when Harvey started making face masks from his sofa and selling them as his recruitment business had slowed down.

The face masks went on to be sold by a number of high street retailers and soon he began working on more products. The pair said they were "buzzing" after securing 10,000 sales and receiving interest from stylists for A-list celebrities and athletes, as well as Premier League footballers and boxers.

Harvey said: "We did not expect this in the first month. We were thinking this might be the one or two year point." Looking back on how far the business has come, Harvey added: "You're so busy with everything that you don't tend to look back and see where you started.
