The Inbetweeners' star Simon Bird has issued some sad news for fans of the sitcom. The 40-year-old actor, who starred alongside Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison in the much-loved Channel 4 comedy series, has announced that there is no chance of them reuiniting any time soon. Ten years after the last film was made, there has been rumours of a third film in the making.

However, Simon quashed those claims as he said he was "pouring cold water" on fan speculation that the cast would be getting back together. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Simon said: "I'm afraid to be the one pouring cold water on this but it's not happening. I can tell you emphatically that there are no prospects of a reunion .

" He admitted that his co-stars would be glad to get together once more, as he blamed the show's writers for the devastating blow. The actor, who is also well known for his role in Friday Night Dinner, added: "We'd be happy to but it's not up to us, it's up to the writers, Iain and Damon, and I know they're both very busy these days. "It's not more likely to happen now than it was ten years ago I'm afraid.

"I think it was a comedy that inhabited a certain time and, well, I think I caused quite a storm on social media in a previous interview where I said it wouldn't be made now but I'm not sure it would. "So no, there have been no discussion about a new show or film." The Channel 4 star admitted that he barely remembers some of the iconic lines from the show that helped to.
