Whether you love them or hate them, it’s hard to deny that ‘villains’ are often the most entertaining part of reality TV. Sure, Kristy and Brett stirred up plenty of controversy on last year’s season of when they and shared “conspiracy theories” about their co-stars, but they also sparked conversations, boosted ratings, and became the favourites among fans who could laugh at their sassy one-liners and savage gameplay. It was reported earlier this year that season 20 couple Kristian and Mimi were set to be the next ‘villains’ on the renovation reality show, with an insider telling that the South Australian newlyweds would be even more “divisive to viewers” than Kristy and Brett.

The production source claimed: “The feeling is that we have bought some serious dynamite with these two and we are just waiting for an explosion.” While Kristian and Mimi have indeed been divisive this season, with fans left outraged after the electrician in a never-before-seen ‘cheating scandal’ this week, the pair have now shut down reports that they are ‘villains’. “The description of villain is like how you'd see in Disney movies, like an evil person that’s cruel,” Mimi tells .

“I’m just not that type of person in real life, or in any life, and neither is Kristian.” Kristian admits he “had a laugh” and “brushed it off” when he saw reports that he and his wife were tipped to be the ‘villains’, however, Mimi says she was “absolutely shocked”.
