THE best Scottish island pubs have been revealed in a new list. Some of the country's most renowned and beloved bars are located off the mainland. From a pretty seaside beer garden in Arran, to a boozer on Skye more than 230 years old, here's the venues that made the list. The Mishnish Hotel and Bar was first to be named on the list. It is situated on Tobermory 's colourful seafront, and is known all over the world.

The traditional venue boasts a collection of old memorabilia of shipments and the town itself. Their hotel overlooks the picturesque harbour and offers 12 rooms with ensuite facilities.

The Castlebay Bar on Barra is the second pub to be named on the list, with the Times calling it "a deceptively average-looking but brilliant bar".
