A stunningly pretty commuter town 22 minutes from London which has been one of the most popular places for homebuyers moving out of the city in recent years is seemingly having a majorly positive impact on their lives. A long time Sevenoaks resident says he's noticed that ex-Londoners who have moved to the beautiful Kent town are 'a lot happier' and 'more zen'. Sevenoaks was named in the Daily Telegraph's ranking of the "most desirable towns in Britain" in 2023.

The Telegraph and estate agents Savills used census data to compile its listing and it was the only town in Kent making the grade. Londoners have taken note as Ward Estate Agents have found that between January and August 2024, 36.36 per cent of all property buyers moving to the area came from London boroughs.

The primary reasons given has been the cost of living in London and the value for money in Sevenoaks. Since the pandemic, many people are hybrid workers, meaning they only go into London once or twice a week, and a place like West Kingsdown [a village in Sevenoaks] allows people to be close by without paying those London prices.
