600 people attended the sold-out show at Saffron Hall to see Britain's Got Talent winner Richard Jones. The event was organised by scout leaders Rory Wilson and Johno from 1st Thaxted-Carver Air Scouts. Money raised at the event will be donated to the Mental Health Foundation and local resident John Clark, who is recovering from a traumatic brain injury.

Rory Wilson, group scout leader, said: "This was an ambitious idea from the start. “But seeing so many people come together to support these causes has been nothing short of incredible. "It just shows the power of our community when everyone pulls together.

"Nights like these are why we say yes to the mad ideas.” The event also featured a special appearance from Deputy Lord Lieutenant Lorna Rolfe, who spoke passionately about the importance of volunteering. Rory thanked the Saffron Hall team, the 1st Thaxted-Carver Air Scouts leadership team and volunteers who helped make the event possible.

He said: "Our leaders and volunteers are the real MVPs of this event. Whether it’s running around with last-minute ideas or making sure everything is in place, they’re always up for the challenge. "Johno and I might come up with wild plans, but it’s the team that helps brings them to life!".
