I recently watched an older movie, “The Wedding Planner.” In that movie the Jennifer Lopez character tells a future bride, the client of the wedding planning business where she works, “He said he can’t believe you chose him.” Similarly, I recently told some people, “When both the husband and wife think they are the lucky one, then a marriage works.

” Marriage between one man and one woman is God’s plan for the world He made, God’s plan for families. “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” (Genesis 2:24) Actually, Scriptures tells us that the relationship between a husband and wife teaches us about the relationship between Jesus and His bride, the Church.

“29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, 30 because we are members of his body.31 "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh." 32 This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.

33 However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.” (Ephesians 5:29-33) Our loving Lord intends that the unity, the bond, the sacrifice and the love between a husband and wife reflect the greater love between Jesus and His Church.
