‘Baby Reindeer’ Takes Home Four Trophies The Emmy Awards were a clean sweep for tongue-in-cheek British black comedy series, which ended up bagging four trophies. The show’s creator and leading man, Richard Gadd , took home three awards for acting, writing, and executive production. His co-star Jessica Gunning , who essayed the role of Martha, a stalker obsessed with Gadd’s character Donny Dunn, was named best supporting actress in a limited series at the ceremony.
Gadd's narrative of being stalked by a woman for several years and being sexually abused by a male TV industry person has been the most talked about episode of the year. However, its claim to be "a true story" has made it contentious, and the real-life lady who supposedly inspired Gunning's role is currently suing Netflix for defamation, negligence, and privacy infringement.
