A prominent Texas attorney was shot dead by his wife in their sprawling $1.6 million mansion in an apparent murder-suicide, according to officials. Authorities said that the incident happened just before 8 a.m. — only moments before they arrived in response to receiving reports of gunshots at the residence.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Jerry Hernandez as a homicide and Sonia Hernandez’s death as a suicide, the outlet reported.
