The closure was confirmed just before 11am on Whiteley Facebook page which said that the petrol station will remain open despite the superstores closure.

The Whiteley Facebook post said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances Tesco's in Whiteley will not be able to trade this morning.We will keep you updated as soon as we know more and apologies for any inconvenience caused. Tesco in Whiteley is not trading currently due to an unforeseen circumstance involving an electrical fault.
