Representative image PUNE: A gang of four men attacked a 26-year-old tempo driver before robbing him of Rs 4,000 in cash and forcing him to use his phone to make a Rs 4,400 money transfer. This incident occurred on the road between Chavan Chowk and Mulik Farm in Kalyaninagar around 7:30 pm on Tuesday. The Yerawada police later arrested the attackers, identified as Sujal Vishal Bhatre (30) and Kunal Kamble (26), both from Ghorpadi Gaon, and booked their two accomplices who are on the run.

Senior Inspector Ravindra Shelke said on Thursday that the tempo driver, Sidram Badole from Sadgurnagar in Bhosari, was waiting at the roadside when the four men, standing at a distance, approached, attacked, and robbed him of Rs 4,000. Shelke stated that the suspects later snatched his phone to transfer Rs 500, but they used a QR code and transferred Rs 4,400 from the driver’s bank account to their account before fleeing. Badole raised an alarm, and passersby, along with a beat marshal, chased and overpowered Bhatre and Kamble, handing them over to the police station for further action.

PUNE: A police team has been dispatched to arrest the two suspects on the run, he added. An FIR relating to the robbery was registered..
