1 2 Prayagraj: Ahead of Janmashtami , the entire city is immersed in celebration of birth of Lord Krishna , with temples being decorated with colourful lights and flowers on the festive occasion. Devotees are all set to celebrate Lord Krishna’s birthday with full pomp and show. Special tableaux are being set up at prominent temples in the city, with artisans from Mirzapur, Varanasi, and West Bengal working round the clock to complete the tableaux showing from birth of Krishna to demon king ‘Kans’ killing .

The sound of bells, mridangs, and conch shells will echo on the all temples of Radha Krishna campus on Monday. Scores of devotees from far and wide will witness the special prayer offered at midnight on Monday at temples to mark the birth of Lord Krishna. With a large number of devotees expected to arrive at Lord Krishna temples and a special fair at reserve police lines, security has been beefed up at temples, markets, and across the district.

The district police administration has started preparations for Janmashtami in advance, as every year thousands of devotees visit the premises of city-based Lord Krishna temples to have darshan of Lord Krishna. The district police authorities have been monitoring the police force with the help of drones and CCTV cameras. Companies of Pradeshik Armed Constabulary (PAC), Police Force, and Rapid Action Force (RAF) have been deployed at the busy spots to regulate the flow of devotees.
