Police have urged teenagers not to use fake ID or consume alcohol this weekend. Brighton and Hove Police urged young people across the city to take care to keep themselves safe as thousands of teenagers celebrate their GCSE results. Young people are advised to stick together if heading to the beach and to arrange a meeting place.

They are urged to tell their families where they are and who they are with. Brighton and Hove Police said on Thursday: "It is GCSE results day and so the weekend may have already started for those of you wanting to spend time with friends and enjoying all Brighton has to offer.

"Just a few reminders from us to help keep you safe (and out of mischief ) if you are out celebrating. "If you are under age then please do not be tempted to have an alcoholic drink or use fake ID. "Stay together, look after each other and have fun.
