A teenager has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after jumping off rocks at a well-known beauty spot in Dorset. The boy suffered a suspected spinal injury in the incident at Man O'War Bay, near Durdle Door in Lulworth. Coastguards, two RNLI lifeboat crews, the fire service, air ambulance and a coastguard helicopter attended the scene.

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance airlifted the teen to Dorset County Hospital where his condition remains unknown. The incident took place at 3.15pm on Monday.

A spokesperson for Weymouth Lifeboat said: "Weymouth RNLI's inshore and all-weather lifeboats launched to reports a teenager had jumped off rocks into the water at Man O'War beach and suffered a suspected spinal injury." A spokesperson for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said: "We received reports of an injured individual at Man O'War Cove. "Coastguard rescue teams from Lulworth and Kimmeridge, a coastguard helicopter, Weymouth RNLI lifeboat, Dorset Fire and Rescue Service, South West Ambulance Service and an air ambulance were all sent.

The casualty was passed into the care of the air ambulance and taken to hospital." A spokesperson for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance said: "Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance's helicopter and Dorset outreach car attended an incident reported as a teenage male who had suffered a fall, in the Lulworth area. Our critical care team assisted at the scene of the incident and airlifted the patient to Dorset County Hospital.
