Police arrested a juvenile after a shooting Saturday morning in Lafayette left one person injured. Around 4 a.m.
, Lafayette Police Department officers responded to a shooting near the 800 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive where they found a female victim with a chest injury. The victim's age or identity has not yet been released.
Emergency personnel took the victim to a hospital. LPD reported she was in stable condition. SWAT officers were on the scene and located a male suspect inside a nearby apartment and were able to call him outside without incident, police said.
Police detained the 16-year-old male suspect, who as of Saturday afternoon was still being interviewed by detectives. Officials said the investigation is ongoing, as detectives are continuing to also interview the victim and additional witnesses..
