Pune: The Swargate police have filed a case against a teacher , who allegedly beaten up 11-year-old student of Standard VI at a school on Pune-Satara road on Sept 27. The police have registered a case of assault after the boy's mother (44) complained against the 26-year-old computer teacher. She filed the complaint after discussing the issue with the school.

According to the police, the teacher slapped the student on head and neck because he did not tuck-in his shirt properly. Senior inspector Yuvraj Nandre of Swargate police said, "It was a private English medium school it happened. We have conducted a medical examination of the student and he has sustained minor injuries.

" Nandre said, "We have summoned the school teacher on Saturday and served a notice to him asking him to cooperate with the investigation and present himself whenever summoned. It was a computer education class and the victim had not tucked his shirt into his school trousers properly. The teacher scolded and slapped him on his head and neck.

" The student returned home after school and narrated the incident to his parents, who work with a private company. "On Friday night [Sept 27], his parents and the boy came to the police station and we sent them for a medical examination," he said.
