The Mayor of London has insisted Taylor Swift's upcoming London gigs will still go ahead despite her Austria cancellations. The pop sensation , 34, is readying herself for a further five shows in England's capital after she didn't take to the stage at her intended Vienna shows due to a terror threat. However, Sadiq Khan is adamant the London shows will go ahead as planned despite the three cancelled Vienna shows amid an ISIS-linked terror plot.
In a defiant statement Khan moved to reassure fans the gigs will have a stringent police operation in place at the crowds plan to descend on the latest round of Wembley Stadium shows. Speaking to Sky News , he said: "We have a huge amount of experience in policing these events, we're never complacent, many lessons were learned after the awful Manchester Arena attack. The police work closely, not just with City Hall, but with councils, but also with those who host concerts, like the Taylor Swift concert coming up over the next couple of weeks.
"I'm sure Vienna has got its own reasons to cancel the Taylor Swift concerts, we're going to carry on, working closely with police [and] ensuring that the Taylor Swift concerts can take place in London safely." The Mirror has contacted Taylor's representatives for comment. Next week's planned London shows will see the Shake It Off singer bring an end to the European leg of her worldwide tour.
