A taxi firm in Hull is looking to expand with a satellite office at a former hair salon. Wer2 Ltd launched in the city in November 2022 . The business has grown since and now looks to set up a base in East Hull.

It has proposed a small office in Southcoates Lane, where Body Beautiful were based. It would be a satellite office with a maximum three staff at any one time. The taxi firm has 60 vehicles in its remit, an application document states. The proposal is an expansion of its footprint, with its existing West Hull base in Walton Street to remain its main offices. "There will only be infrequent instances where customers need to be picked up within the waiting room of the site," Benson Planning Studio make clear on behalf of the applicant in a document.

"Taxi drivers will largely operate from their cars via dispatch software in their vehicles and will largely not visit the office." Arguments made in the proposal's favour include that it is a business expansion, a place for sustainable development in East Hull and no external changes are needed. Over in The Avenues, planning approval was given in recent days to a single-storey expansion to Union Mash-Up.
