Taunton Town secured their first win at home league since September in their final fixture at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium in 2024. The Peacocks secured a 2-0 win over Poole Town on Saturday (December 21) in a match which turned on a first half red card for Poole goalkeeper Cameron Plain. Victory means not only an end to a run of poor home results, but the end of their recent run which has seen the club drift towards the bottom end of the Southern League Premier South.

Going into the game, manager Richard Luffman made four changes from the side that lost to Havant & Waterlooville . Jack Rice, who returned to the club on loan from Chorley , was in from the start as were Owen Brain, Eddie Jones and Harris Feltham. Dropping out were Jay Malshanskyj, Tom Purrington, Alfie Moulden and Charlie Cummins.

Other new signing Chris Zebroski was named on the bench. The early stages were fairly even. Taunton had a couple of opportunities to create something early on without testing Plain, while Poole looked dangerous up front also.
