Red Ball, the signature fundraiser of the Guam Chapter of the American Red Cross, held on to its coveted reputation for being one of the island’s premier events to attend. Hundreds attended the Sept. 28 event at Dusit Thani Guam Resort in Tumon.
"Resilient & Ready," the theme for the 22nd annual fundraiser, a celebration of all the Red Cross volunteers who pitched in with disaster relief after Typhoon Mawar and others. Chita Blaise, American Red Cross Guam chapter executive director, said she's pleased with the outcome and outpouring of support the organization received. “When a community comes together with purpose and passion, the impossible becomes achievable.
This success is a testament to the generosity of our supporters and the unwavering dedication of everyone involved,” she said. Red Ball attendees typically include movers and shakers in the business community, island dignitaries and even those who just want to get dressed up for a night of fun — all for a good cause. The American Red Cross Guam Chapter assists families in emergency situations, such as home fires or larger-scale disasters like typhoons.
