WHITE CREEK—Tannica Ann Carroll, of White Creek, passed away quickly and quietly in the arms of her son, Matthew, on the morning of Saturday, December 21, 2024, in her home at the age of 74. She was born December 8, 1950, the daughter of the late Arthur and Arvilla (Gates) Carroll. After graduating from Cambridge Central School in 1969 and earning an Associate’s Degree in Business from Monroe Community College in 1971, she married Mark Northrup in 1976.
In 1981, she achieved her greatest desire when her son, Matthew, was born. Tannica was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt and wife, but especially a mother. She truly enjoyed children and participating in all activities with her son.
She really was a bundle of fun. Matthew’s six cousins have many loving and hilarious memories of their Aunt Tannica. Besides her love for her family, Tannica’s greatest love was for dogs.
Those that needed a home, good care and love were welcome. Needless to say, there were many canine friends over the years. In addition to her parents, Tannica was predeceased by her husband, Mark Northrup.
She is survived by her son, Matthew Northrup. Also mourning her death are her siblings, Shellie Carroll and Jeff Carroll of White Creek, Art (Beverly) Carroll of Cambridge. She is also survived by four nieces and nephews and six great-nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by her dog, Rosie. Tannica was a special person. Her energy, humor, fashion sense, and love of life will never be forgotten.
