Skwlax te Secwepemculecw’s Talking Rock Golf Resort northeast of Little Shuswap Lake has been named by ScoreGolf Magazine as one of the 100 best courses in Canada. In a news release, the band said last year’s devastating wildfire didn’t hinder the golf resort from being included in the national ranking.

Talking Rock ranked 73rd overall, down from 66th in 2022. The Chase-area links was rated sixth out of the nine B.C.

Cody Bell, Talking Rock’s director of golf and head professional, said it is a “true honour” to be ranked in the top 100 as a public facility. “The rankings, which are published every two years, have historically been dominated by private clubs in some of Canada’s largest cities,” Bell said in a statement.

“With over 60 per cent of the facilities on the list being private clubs, to be recognized as a public facility is a testament to the experience we provide guests here at Talking Rock.” The resort was also named the Professional Golf Association of B.C.
