SWAT's showrunner Andrew Dettman has dropped a hint that fan favourites Jim Street (played by Alex Russell) and Christina Alonso (Lina Esco) might be heading down the aisle soon. The possibility of their engagement was hinted at in a cryptic comment from Street in the finale of the last season, which was supposedly his final episode. Before riding off on his motorcycle, he made a promise to Victor Tan (David Lim): "How's this - Chris and I will have you over in a few weeks for the engagement party.

" He added: "Just don't say anything yet, especially to Chris!" Despite Street having marriage on his mind, his co-star and on-screen love interest Lina bid farewell to the CBS drama back in season five. Alonso is now running a safe house for immigrant women, while Street is leading his former boss's SWAT team in Long Beach. Even though they've both embarked on new adventures, showrunner Andrew is keeping the door ajar for them to return for a special episode.

"You know, I would love to [do a wedding]," he confessed to TVLine. "In our minds, Street and Chris are still very much part of the SWAT family", reports the Express . There's reportedly a chance that Street star Alex will return to direct an episode of season eight, so he's clearly still a key player in the SWAT universe.

However, the fact they're no longer part of the cast may leave some fans worried that the couple could tie the knot off-screen without the stars themselves making an appearance. Thankfully, Alex has assured .
