SUV carrying agri min’s wife crashes into bus

Pune: State agriculture minister and Nationalist Congress Party ( NCP ) leader Dhananjay Munde 's wife escaped unhurt after the SUV she was travelling in crashed into a private luxury bus in Uruli Kanchan around 5am on Thursday. The incident occurred in front of a petrol pump in Sortapwadi, around 30km from Pune city on the highway to Solapur. At the time, Rajashree Munde, her driver and an attendant were in the SUV.

Superintendent of police (Pune rural) Pankaj Deshmukh told TOI, "The SUV was approaching Pune after leaving Parli in Beed district. The bus suddenly drove out of the petrol pump and came onto the highway. Munde's driver, Achyut Mane, applied the brakes, but the SUV hit the bus on its rear end.

Both vehicles were damaged in the accident." Driver Mane later gave the information of the incident to the Uruli Kanchan police, but he did not file a complaint against the bus driver, added Deshmukh. "We have made a station diary entry relating to the accident," the SP said.
