Susie Dent reveals how she got onto Countdown in 2023 Countdown 's resident lexicographer Susie Dent has had some huge career news as her BBC Radio 4 comedy show has been recommissioned. The 59-year-old wordsmith teamed up with Taskmaster comedian Phil Wang for the BBC Radio 4 comedy show Unspeakable. The original episodes broadcast in February and May this year and invited comedians to invent new words which can be used to describe shared concepts which have, until now, lacked unique names.

Guest for the previous episodes were Stephen Fry, Laura Smyth and Maisie Adam They are now getting set to record new installments in a matter of weeks on Tuesday August 27, Monday September 2 and Wednesday, September 4 at The Backyard Comedy Club. Fans are currently being invited to apply for audience tickets for the show. This latest good news comes after the star announced last month that another project was coming to an end.

On her podcast Something Rhymes With Purple which she co-hosts with This Morning star Gyles Brandreth she revealed the show was undergoing a departure from its current format after five years. She shared her sadness at saying "goodbye to the podcast in four episodes time". "It makes us both sad and excited.
