Singer Susan Boyle revealed she has asked an alternative medicine guru for help as she focuses on her health journey after suffering a stroke two years ago. The star suffered a minor stroke which left her wondering if she could return to performing on stage. The Britain's Got Talent icon found fame on the programme in 2009.

Last year, she opened up about why she disappeared from the limelight for a while. She said about returning to the stage: "It's extra special for me actually, last April there, I suffered a minor stroke and I thought it'd be crazy to be back on stage and I have done it." And now, she said has been trying out 'natural health remedies' from Aussie alternative medicine guru Barbara O'Neill.

The guru has been banned from giving any health services in a few Australian states. Susan, who discovered the guru online, reassured fans that she hasn't abandoned 'traditional medicine'. Barbara has previously claimed people's cancer could be cured with baking soda and restrictive diets and made other unfounded health claims.

Australia's Health Care Complaints Commission said in 2019 that her teachings posed a" risk to the health and safety of members of the public". They also banned her from providing health services in the country. Speaking about turning to the guru for help, Susan said to MailOnline : "Barbara is all about alternative medicine.

You need to broaden your mind. I don’t replace traditional medicines though, it’s in addition. I know Barbara found troub.
