Actor couple Suriya and Jyothika are currently basking in the glory of their daughter Diya Suriya successfully following in their footsteps in cinema. Diya has directed a documentary titled- Leading Light – The Untold Stories of Women Behind the Scenes. Suriya and Jyothika have penned adorable notes on Instagram, appreciating their daughter’s first step in filmmaking.
The Rakhta Charitra 2 actor shared a photograph of her daughter with lighting equipment. He wrote in the caption, “Dear Diya, I am incredibly proud of you for making this documentary! It’s inspiring to see how you’ve given a voice to the amazing women behind the scenes and I know this is just the beginning of your wonderful journey.” He advised his daughter to keep following her passion and he is proud to be her Appa (father).

Meanwhile, Jyothika wrote that she is proud of her daughter for making such a meaningful student documentary. The Chandramukhi actress wrote that this film explores the discrimination faced by female gaffers in the entertainment industry. Jyothika advised her daughter to keep moving forward and thanked her for throwing light on this underlying issue.
