David Corenswet - who plays Clark Kent/Superman in Warner Bros.' highly-anticipated Superman film set for release next summer - hit the red carpet for the New York premiere on Wednesday. He was seen posing with the children of Reeve - the first actor to play Superman in a big-budget theatrical feature in 1978's Superman - at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City .

Reeve's children - Matthew, Alexandra and Will - appear alongside stars like Susan Sarandon and Glenn Close , with the film debuting in a limited release through Fathom Events on September 21 and 25. Corenswet was also joined on the red carpet by his Superman director James Gunn and Gunn's DC Studios co-chairman Peter Safran.
