Wednesday, August 14, 2024 As luxury travel flourishes with boutique businesses targeting high-end tourists, budget-conscious vacationers in the US are meticulously managing their spending. Small businesses situated along popular vacation spots such as boardwalks and piers across the US are reporting a return to pre-2020 tourist levels. The resurgence in visitor numbers has been particularly noticeable at these vibrant waterfront locations, where the influx of tourists has once again brought a bustling atmosphere reminiscent of past years.

However, the spending patterns of these tourists reveal a distinct divide. While affluent visitors are indulging in luxury experiences and spending generously, lower-income vacationers are being more cautious with their finances. These travelers are adhering to meticulously planned budgets, carefully managing their expenses to ensure a memorable yet cost-effective vacation.

Sean Bailey, the marketing manager for the SkyWheel observation wheel located at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade in South Carolina, has reported an impressive rebound in ticket sales. Since its inception 13 years ago, the SkyWheel has seen a notable increase in visitor numbers, with sales surpassing those of 2019 beginning in 2021. This resurgence highlights the attraction’s enduring appeal and the broader recovery of tourism in the area.

Bailey noted that the upward trend has continued into the current year, with ticket sales slightly exceeding those recorded.
