Sujoy Ghosh, who is best known for making the Vidya Balan-starrer Kahaani, is in the news for directing Shah Rukh Khan's next King. While the director might have his hands full right now, at the time of making Kahaani, Sujoy had delivered flop called Aladin, which starred Amitabh Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, and Jacqueline Fernandez debuted with the film. In a recent interview, Ghosh recalled that despite Aladin failing spectacularly, Amitabh Bachchan stood by his side and boosted his confidence.
Sujoy Ghosh talks about Kahaani being rejected by everyone In a chat with Mashable India, Sujoy recalled that he went to everyone with the script of Kahaani, but no one had faith in him due to the failure of Aladin. He said, “Everyone just told me ‘Yeh bakwas script hai (this is a terrible script)’. A pregnant lady is running around in the streets of Kolkata, nothing is happening,” he recalled.
Accepting the fate of Aladin, Sujoy said, “In all, 17 people must have watched Aladin, and out of that, 15 were of my own family. Either a film works or it doesn’t. If it works then it is a good movie, if it doesn’t then it is a bad film.
So if it didn’t work, then probably I made a bad movie. You have to just accept it and move on.” ALSO READ: Jaane Jaan Director Sujoy Ghosh Reveals Skeptics Told Him 'Kareena Would Never Shoot In Darjeeling': But That Wasn't.
