Beloved TV presenter Sue Perkins has been a familiar face on British television for over 25 years. After making her name alongside friend Mel Giedroyc on UK TV with their own shows, comedian Sue has featured on numerous panel shows, reality programmes and hosted her own radio shows and podcasts. The 55-year-old is now back on our screens in the travel Channel 4 series Sue Perkins' Big Adventure: Paris to Istanbul, where she traces the path of the Orient Express.

This is the latest television endeavour from the comedian who has enjoyed a successful career and even lived in Cornwall. Born on September 22, 1969 in Croydon, she was raised alongside her two younger siblings by her parents. Her father was employed at a local car dealership while her mother worked as a secretary. She attended the independent girls' school Croham Hurst School with TV presenter Susanna Reid, before studying English at New Hall in Cambridge.
It was here that she met Mel Giedroyc at the Footlights, igniting their lengthy career together. In the 1990s, the comedy pair wrote for the Radio 4 show Weekending and created sketches for French and Saunders. They also presented the daytime shows Light Lunch and Late Lunch for Channel 4 between 1997 and 1998.
