A campsite adjacent to the stunning Porth Iago beach in North Wales is overwhelmed by the influx of visitors. Nestled on the Llyn Peninsula in Gwynedd, Porth Iago is often lauded as one of the UK's most scenic coastal spots. During peak season, both campers and day-trippers are frequently turned away due to the full capacity of Porth Iago's campsite and car park.

The site manager has noted that the long journeys some visitors undertake only add to their frustration when they're refused entry, sometimes resulting in tense confrontations. Access to the beach is exclusively through private property, leaving day visitors in the dark about parking availability until they arrive. The campsite urges potential guests to book in advance, warning that those without reservations will be rejected.

The anonymous campsite manager expressed his distress over the situation, revealing that he's contemplating shutting down both the campsite and its car park. He attributes the overwhelming popularity to unsolicited and unwelcome positive media coverage. Following the Sunday Times Best UK Beaches guide 2024's ranking of Porth Iago as the third-best beach in Wales last month, interest surged even more, reports North Wales Live .

"People just think it's a free-for-all," the manager lamented. "They read articles in papers and online and they think they have a right to come here and go on the beach. But they haven't - the only access to the beach is across private land.

I've been attacked by people .
