Devon is immensely popular for UK staycations with its stunning beaches and gorgeous coastline. Seaton, a beautiful seaside town on the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site is a short walk away from the South West Coast Path and Seaton Wetlands Nature Reserve. Despite all its draws, tourists often overlook Seaton - which sits between the major tourist hotspots of Sidmouth and Lyme Regis in east Devon.

Victoria Moorey, who works at Coastal Craft Collective near the seafront, tells DevonLive : "The small town has a huge beach , a great community and a big heart”. Due to it being a lesser-known seaside town, it's actually worked in Seaton's favour. She said: "It's a working town with visitors.

It's nice and quiet but gets busier in the summer. We're not a town that closes down. We stay open all year round.

We're not subject to loads of second homeowners like a lot of Devon towns are so it stays the same all year round." It has a one mile shingle beach , an esplanade and seafront, a flat promenade with seating, ice cream huts and beach side cafes and views across Lyme Bay to Beer Head. The Esplanade does look in need of renovation, but money is being pumped in to bring it back to its former glory.

An additional block of flats is also going to be built on the seafront. A pub, the Hook and Parrott, has already been fenced off and will be torn down and replaced with a restaurant and more apartments. The town centre, which is pedestrianised, is packed with boutique shops and cafes.
