The beautiful Cam Towpath (Image: Google) Although Cambridge is a city, it has many green spaces, and the further away from the centre you venture, the more you discover. The River Cam in particular has some stunning scenery, with one of its paths following down to a popular lock. Cam Towpath is a popular walking route that is also a favourite of many cyclists in the area.

The well-surfaced path runs alongside the river from Water Street to Baits Bite Lock. This is a very easy route to follow and is suitable for the whole family. This walk begins at The Green Dragon Pub which is one of the most idyllic pubs in the city.

Overlooking the river with a stunning beer garden, the pub was also a favourite of J.R.R.

Tolkien . You could start your walk with a drink in the garden or end it there on your way back. The whole route is really well signposted and it's impossible to miss. Now, the route is used by walkers, joggers and cyclists as they enjoy the picturesque views along the way.
