Shirley Ballas has revealed that she would love to see a member of the Royal Family take to the Strictly stage. The Strictly Come Dancing judge, 63, who is a legendary ballroom dancer and known as the 'The Queen of Latin', opened up about her dream contestant in this week's Woman magazine. Shirley, who replaced Len Goodman on the massively popular BBC show in 2017, explained that she's a "fan" of a working royal who happens to also be a fan of the show.

When asked who she'd pick, she said: "Anybody from the Royal Family or a member of the public - can you cha-cha, darling?" The judge was then told that Princess Anne would love to be on the show, to which she replied: "You see? Hold onto your hat! I'm a huge fan of hers." It was reported in April that Princess Anne told professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova that she'd be keen to join the dance show when the pair met at a ballet event earlier this year. Nadiya told The Sun that the Princess Royal "wants to go on the show" and is a "fan", but she's not the only senior Royal who enjoys the series, as both Queen Camilla and the late Queen Elizabeth II were thought to be fans.

However, members of the Royal Family have to adhere to a set of rules in regards to the way they dress and how they behave, which can include everything from social media to food. Despite this, Mike Tindall , who is married to Anne's daughter, Zara Tindall , appeared on I'm A Celebrity in 2022, but with Anne being a senior royal, the rules may be different. It .
