Shayne Ward has revealed the advice he has received from a former Strictly Come Dancing star as he also praised fellow northerner and show winner Ellie Leach ahead of his stint in the hit dance show. The actor and singer is among the new 15 celebrities who have signed up to the BBC One dance contest as it returns for its 22nd series and it was recently revealed during the Strictly 2024 launch show that Shayne would be partnered with Nancy Xu. Shayne and Nancy and their fellow couples will perform their first routines as a couple during week one of this year's competition on Saturday night (September 21) and the judges will be able to cast their verdicts and issue their scores.

The 39-year-old said: "As we both say, we're both buzzing!" He continued: "First of all, she's a beautiful soul. She's just really, really happy and just a really genuine person.
