Strictly Come Dancing pro- Amy Dowden made her highly anticipated return to the dancefloor after stepping away to undergo treatment for breast cancer last year. The 34-year-old was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in 2023, and thankfully, after a hiatus from the previous season, a mastectomy and chemotherapy, tests revealed there was “no evidence of disease.” This year, Amy has been partnered with JLS star JB Gill and returned with an emotional routine as she dazzled in pink and was circled by other dancers in black and grey.

The group number ended with a hug between her and fellow professionals, before lifting her into the air. Ahead of the show, It Takes Two co-host Janette Manrara opened up about Amy’s victorious recovery and the joys of her comeback. co.uk, the star revealed it was “incredible” to have Amy back and described her as “the most incredible” woman. “So, so inspiring.

Her documentary Cancer and Me , where she opens just showcases so much vulnerability and strength at the same time. “I think it's such a beautiful way to help people that are going through what she’s gone through which is one in two of us, it’s a mad number.” Janette added: “So for us to have her back and be healthy, to be able to dance, teach and do what she loves to do most in this world just makes this series even more special.
