The departure of EastEnders ' Jamie Borthwick, who was the ninth celeb to be booted off the BBC One dance contest, left fans in shock during Sunday night's results show. The soap star and his professional partner Michelle Tsiakkas were sent packing after reaching week ten of the series. They found themselves in the dreaded dance-off against Olympian Montell Douglas and her partner Johannes Radebe, who also had to fight for their place in Strictly's 20th-anniversary series last weekend.

Jamie and Michelle performed their elegant foxtrot to Stand By Me by Ben E King once again, which had earned them a score of 32 from the judges during Saturday's (November 23) live show. Judge Anton Du Beke praised the actor as a "beautiful dancer" but suggested he needed to be more "ridiculous" and "over the top" following his first performance. Meanwhile, Montell and Johannes reprised their quickstep to Get Happy by Ella Fitzgerald in an attempt to wow the judges.

They had previously received a score of 37 for the routine during the latest live show, with Anton declaring it their best performance since their couple's choice. After both couples had danced a second time, the judges unanimously decided to save Montell .
